‘Kachche Dhaage’ director Milan Luthria got a new lease of life when his film ‘Taxi No. 9 2 11’ received critical as well as audience acclaim. Luthria is one of the hottest directors doing the rounds these days. The name of his next film is ‘Hat Trick’ and he has managed a casting coup by getting together stalwarts like Naseeruddin Shah, Paresh Rawal and Nana Patekar.

What is interesting to note is that all three hail from the theatre background. And at least two of them (Nana and Naseer) have their share of mood swings. The pre production work for the film is in full swing and the shooting will begin this month. It has to be said that this is the golden time of Hindi Cinema. For the audience has matured. They are no longer overtly impressed with Hollywood and are willing to spend big money to watch cinema in multiplexes. In what has been the best year for Bollywood (Financially), it’s good to see directors like Milan Luthria, Rakeysh Mehra, Rajkumar Hirani and Madhur Bhandarkar having the gumption to tell a story exactly how they conceive and believe in.
